2009, Black Pistol Fire was born when the two relocated to Austin. There, they rehearsed, wrote, and created music in a rented garage while living in poverty and surviving off a steady diet of potatoes. This was until the pair were playing at a local Austin spot, when producer Jim Diamond (The White Stripes, The Von Bondies) approached the band about recording together. The resulting LP, simply titled Black Pistol Fire, was released in February 2011 in record stores in North America, at live shows, and worldwide through iTunes. The LP garnered a positive critical response from publications such as the Austin Chronicle, PopMatters, and the Houston Press. Along with that, their music has been used in television shows such as as well as featured in ads for Pepsi Canada and Braun Shavers in Europe.
The band recorded "Big Beat '59 in the fall of 2011 with producer Michael Rocha in Toronto. A video for "Crows Feet" is currently in the works and will be out in August.
You can listen to a preview of Crows Feet, a single on the new album.
