Damien Jurado Touring with Ben Gibbard

Damien Jurado will support Ben Gibbard (Death Cab for Cutie) on his west coast dates this fall. Starting November 13, Damien will support Mr. Gibbard as he travels through San Francisco, Los Angeles, Portland, and Seattle. Damien just finished a European tour with Megafaun, has dates confirmed at Bumbershoot, Hopscotch Festival, Fun Fun Fun Fest, and a full U.S. tour with Shar 1b44 on Van Etten this fall.

Touring in support of his most recent album Maraqopa, Damien's recent live shows with a new full band, have been uplifting affairs. Damien has gotten in the habit of closing his sets by coming off mic and singing a song unplugged. This was captured on film at a recent performance in front of a packed house at the Haldern Pop Festival in Germany. Always heartfelt and humorous, you can watch Damien cracking jokes with the cameraman and crowd as he comes down off the stage to sing "Let Us All In." The crowd responds by singing and clapping along, adding a wonderfully communal feel to the end of the set, and leaving the room full of smiles.

Maraqopa also marks Damien's 10th studio album and in celebration of this he’s put together a new Spotify playlist sampling his favorite songs from each of his ten releases.
