Kris Orlowski Album Release
Playing Rontoms This Sunday
Kris Orlowski, folk-pop singer-songwriter out of Seattle will be releasing a new EP next month. The title of the sophomore collaborative EP, The Pieces We Are from Kris Orlowski and Andrew Joslyn is an apt description of the musical vision of this industrious pair. It is more than just an orchestral rock album: it is a collective of artist 1d4b s, photographers, and videos which all coincide into a singular storyline from a Pacific Northwest community.
The talents of Kris Orlowski's songwriting and baritone swoon have carved out a niche in the Northwest, backed by the significant talents of his folk-pop band, Mark Isakson on guitar, Torry Anderson on keys, Aaron O'Neil on drums, and Tyler Carroll on bass. Sound on the Sound says ... "A troubadour by definition, whose full bodied croon develops a charisma all its own". Orlowski writes from a real, unguarded place and that accessibility is tangible, but also provocative.
Alongside Orlowski, there is the up-and-coming composer and violinist, Andrew Joslyn, who is a seasoned arranger and performer with some of the most iconic Northwest musicians such as Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, David Bazan, and Allen Stone. Between Orlowski and Joslyn is a friendship and musical relationship that has been years in the making.
At times cinematic and powerful, at other moments heart-wrenching and somber, the album soars from start to finish. Shards of intimate stories, yes. Orchestral pieces, yes. "In essence, We are like pieces in a jigsaw puzzle. We are all unique, and have our own special place in the puzzle of the universe. Without each of us, the puzzle is incomplete." - anonymous.
In the end, This is The Pieces We Are.
