Live Music Highlights Fremont Fest
In NE Portland August 4th
Three stages with live music are free to all who attend the 26th Annual Fremont Fest, which runs from 10 am to 6 pm on Saturday, August 4, 2012.
The event is in Beaumont Village, on NE Fremont Street, which will be closed to traffic all day between NE 42nd and 52nd, creating a safe, fun-fil 183b led pedestrian mall with music, entertainment, street vendors, food, and attractions for children and adults.
Among the bands and live performances are Zumba, The Brazillionaires, Sam Bam Boo, and Neighbors on the Main Stage; Anandi, 2Jazz Guitars, Donny Wright and Sarah G. Peers on the Folk Stage; and Gary Furlow, Hula Hoop Girl, Adam Sweeney and Boy & Bean on the Kid’s Stage. Live music on all stages begins at 11 am and continues to 5 pm.
Other activities at Fremont Fest include three Kid’s Zones with bounce houses, slides, games, face painting, arts and crafts. Adults can enjoy a Salsa Challenge and a pub crawl, sales and bargains from the stores, shops and restaurants along NE Fremont Street, plus several raffles for both cash and gift prizes.
