Makin’ It with Destination DIY: a project night & listening party in partnership with SCRAP and ADX, returns from 7 to 9 p.m. on Aug. 22. Destination DIY is an independently produced public radio show and podcast bringing you stories about all kinds of creat 1c2a ivity. The show airs on Oregon Public Broadcasting as well as other public radio stations around the country. Host Julie Sabatier finds people and activities that push the do-it-yourself envelope beyond home improvement and crafts. The show is currently producing new episodes for its second season of hour-long shows, which was largely funded through Kickstarter.

Makin’ It with Destination DIY treats listeners to previously unreleased material from new episodes of the show as well as music hand-picked by a DJ.

Full Sail Brewing Company is providing free beverages and Tribute’s is providing free pizza. Destination DIY host Julie Sabatier will conduct a live and recorded interview with local zinesters Nicole Georges and Greg Mean aka Clutch McBastard. DJ Buzzkill aka Willamette Week's Dr. Know will provide the tunes. Everyone is encouraged to bring something creative to work on while they listen: knitting, a sketch book, zine stapler, arduino circuit board, laptop, origami cranes, a Bedazzler or whatever you’ve been working on. And if you don’t have a creative project in the works, SCRAP will be on-hand to provide materials!

When: 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. Aug. 22

Where: ADX, 417 S.E. 11th Ave.
