Makin' It With Destination DIY September

A Listening Party and Project Night

By bePortland
Sep 18 7:25am

Makin’ It with Destination DIY: a project night & listening party in partnership with SCRAP and ADX, returns from 7 to 9 p.m. on Sept. 19. Makin’ It with Destination DIY treats listeners to previously unreleased material from new episodes of the show as well as music hand-picked by celebrity DJ Rescue (Zia McCabe of the Dandy Warhols). Full Sail Brewing Company is providing free beverages and American Dream is providing free pizza. Destination DIY host Julie Sabatier will conduct a live and recorded interview with Shawn Bowman, mastermind behind the book and blog, Criminal Crafts. Bowman will also lead a demo on making the now-famous Pussy Riotbalaclava. Everyone is encouraged to bring something creative to work on while they listen: knitting, a sketch book, zine stapler, arduino circuit board, laptop, origami cranes, a Bedazzler or whatever you’ve been working on. And if you don’t have a creative project in the works, SCRAP will be on-hand to provide materials!
