MFNW Digital eXperience
New Music and Technology Panel
The first year of Portland Digital eXperience at the 2012 MFNW will feature a special music and technology panel with some of Portland's most esteemed professionals. The discussion with be led by Banana Stand Media's Aaron Colter and focus on the intersection of technology and music within the city's vibrant startup and D.I.Y. communities.
Confirmed panelists include:
Larry Crane - owner of 1a22 Jackpot! Recording Studios and editor of Tape Opmagazine
Maggie Vail - musician, activist, label manager for Bikini Kill Records, and co-executive director of the nonprofit CASH Music
Jared Mees - musician and founder of label Tender Loving Empire
Mike Thrasher - owner of the Hawthorne Theatre and event promoter in Portland and Seattle
Robert Ham - freelance writer for Willamette Week, The Oregonian, Portland Monthly, Village Voice, and other publications
Christopher Kirkley - West African music archivist and founder of label Sahel Sounds
Alicia J. Rose - video director, photographer, and marketing specialist for bands such as Mastodon, The Decemberists, Cake, Menomena, Laura Gibson, along with many other artists

The panel is set for Friday, September 7th from 3:00pm to 4:00pm at Pure Space, located at 315 NW Overton Street in downtown Portland, Oregon. A webstream for the panel is expected to be available for those that cannot attend. Access badges for the Portland Digital eXperience can be purchased in advanced.
