Northwest Academy Arts After Hours Classes Open To All Metro Area 5-12 Grade Students
Registration open for more than 25 after-school classes for 2012-2013 school year
Portland area middle and high school students can tap into their creative (and intellectual) interests in a variety of after school classes offered at Northwest Academy, an independent school located in downtown Portland. The after-school classes are open to all middle (grades 5-8) and high school students in the greater Portland area. An extension of Northwest Academy’s academic and arts programs, Arts After Hours offers hands-on accredited classes taught by master teachers and leaders in creative disciplines from theater and music to media and visual arts. Classes are held during the Fall and Spring semesters, and tuition ranges from $180 to $375 per class. Credits received from Arts After Hours high school classes may be transferred to most Portland area high schools. To register for classes, contact Julia Cain at jcain@nwacademy.org or 503-223-3367 x 116 or download a registration form online at www.nwacademy.org.
“We started Arts After Hours to offer all middle and high school students in the metro area an immersion in the arts with master teachers who are leaders in their fields,” said Mary Folberg, Head of School at Northwest Academy. “It is such a delight to watch young musicians explore a new instrument or artists or dancers take their talents to the next level.”
