The Dirty Heads Coming to PDX
With Matisyahu
The Dirty Heads is performing along with Matisyahu in Portland, OR on Saturday, September 22 at Crystal Ballroom. The band just released Cabin by the Sea, June 19 on the Five Seven Music label. It’s the follow-up to 2008’s Any Port in the Storm debut, which featured one of the decade’s biggest rock singles, “Lay Me Down”, which has been certified Gold and spent 11 1bb7 weeks at #1 on the Billboard “Alternative Songs” chart. The Southern California SoCal rock/reggae/hip-hop band was called one of Rolling Stone's “Best New Bands of 2010.”
Cabin by the Sea features guests including Rome (from Sublime with Rome), Del the Funky Homosapien, Ky-Mani Marley and Hasidic hip-hop star Matisyahu. Maintaining the diversity from their first album, the album ranges from sunny acoustic pop, to hip-hop with mariachi horns and feel-good. The album’s defining trait? An insistence on positivity and good vibes (with an herbal assist), a philosophy summed up nicely by “Spread Too Thin.”
