Last night was definitely a night of synths, keyboards and laptops, as these titans of NW electronica played hard. On the bill were Litanic Mask, Onuinu, The Tempers, and headliner Wampire, each bringing their unique sound to the table.

Litanic Mask

Starting off the night was two piece band Litanic Mask. Darker than your average blue monday, LM reminded me of my days listening to bands like New Order and Joy Division. A sense of nostalgia and gothic melancholy definitely started off the night just right.

Onuinu

Second up was Onuinu. Though there was a little mishap with a forgotten memory card, Onuinu definitely made the crowd dance with his reggae-like singing and dancey beats. This one piece band was definitely a crowd pleaser; his music had many different influences. At one point I heard a repetitive disco beat that kicked into a bassy hip-hop feel. Onuinu is definitely an eclectic soul and someone to watch out for as his career progresses.

The Tempers

From a tank of gas and a two and a half hour drive comes The Tempers. A family band hailing from Seattle, this band is generating lots noise with its very unique sound. Corina, Chalia, and James bring new sounds to the table that will definitely inspire a new generation of musical talent. With the release of its full-length album, “Vol. 1”, The Tempers are on a continuous journey to electro-rock stardom. Corina with her unique vocals and melodies, Chalia with her thick drum beats, and James with his 60’s style keyboard skills made the crowd get off its feet and dance to the unique brand of music. If I wasn't lugging around my camera equipment I would have been dancing too.

Wampire

Though there is no real definition for a Wampire, I can tell you that these Portland natives are making their mark in Eletronica history. This three piece band definitely wanted the room to have a dark and mysterious ambiance. Before the set they set up back lighting and filled the room with smoke. While the lights dimmed it gave the audience a feel that they were in for a treat. Wampire played really catchy tunes including a German melody sang by the band's lead guitar player. Get out and see them around town soon before they're off touring the world.
