‘Tis the season for sipping Cava, and Bar Vivant welcomes Augusti Torello Mat 1f91 a for two evenings of special tastings, tapas and sabering 101. Taste the range of products from this Spanish Cava producer, which include Brut Reserva, Rosat Trepat, Gran Reserva Barrica and Kripta Gran Reserva. Born from the best Penedès vines, Agustí Torelló Mata’s cavas respect their origins and traditions.
After a successful ten-year run in two Eastside locations, pastry chef and entrepreneur Cheryl Wakerhauser moved her operations to a new location in Portland’s inner eastside neighborhood in August 2012. The newly renovated 3,000 square-foot building hosts the popular Pix Patisserie and the new Bar Vivant, a proper Spanish tapas bar where the Txakoli is poured high and the napkins hit the floor. With a 2000+ bottle cellar, an outdoor courtyard and a pétanque court, Bar Vivant is a standup and “order at the bar” concept with a variety of tapas. On the other side of the oval bar (known as the Pyrenees) you’ll find Pix Pâtisserie with more than 30+ rotating flavors of colorful macarons, sophisticated desserts and housemade chocolates, ice cream and beer floats.
Bar Vivant specializes in champagne with 150+ bottles including older vintages and larger formats. Heavily focused on grower-producers, the list also includes 60 sparklers from around the globe and still wine from France, Spain and the Pacific Northwest.
