It was a perfect evening for a party on the terrace of the Ecotrust building this past Friday night. The Explore Your Craft event, a collaborative effort by Widmer Brothers Brewing and DRAFT magazine. This initial event is just the first in a series of seven events held around the country. Explore Your Craft celebrates the artistry of brewing, cooking, visual art and musical performance.

Planned around the Widmer Brothers Brewing portfolio, there was an array of small plates from Chef Brian Stafford of Portland’s Pearl District Whole Foods that were then paired with specific beers. We were also treated to a charcuterie station from Olympic Provisions.

Featured beers included Widmer Brothers’ summer seasonal Citra Blonde Summer Brew, the newly released Shaddock IPA from the brewery’s Rotator IPA Series, Kill Devil Brown Ale from the brewery’s Brothers’ Reserve line, and many more.

Artist Samuel Robinette painted a piece throughout the evening, which depicted a Widmer Brothers pint glass set next to the Pearl district skyline at sunset. Sami Rouissi, a Pacific Northwest musician, cooed an array of cover tunes that set a relaxed atmosphere.

The terrace filled quickly and stayed pretty packed for the remainder of the evening, a very successful kick off to the series. Next stops on the tour are Minneapolis, Washington D.C., San Francisco, San Diego, Seattle, and Boston.
