The Original to Host Man vs. Pie Challenge

Get ready for some messy faces in Portland! The Original is hosting the Man vs. Pie Challenge on September 20th, 2012 at 12 p.m. in Big Pink’s outdoor courtyard across the street from The Original.

 

 

The Original needs 10 – 15 contestants to participate in the 12 minute long pie-eating contest, featuring 2000 Pastry Chef Sally Bowers’ creations, made with Oregon ingredients. All contestants will get a free whole pie voucher for the holidays from The Original’s pies-to-go holiday program. Last year’s hot dog eating champion will also be participating in the event.

 

Local gossip columnist Byron Beck will emcee the event and general manager Troy Christian will be the judge. Spectators watch for free and can enjoy a free slice of pie with coffee (participants can sign up at The Original in advance or at the event itself day of).

 

Donations are encouraged, and all proceeds for the contest will benefit the Cascade AIDS Project. The winner of the contest will win a night’s stay at the downtown Courtyard Marriot and a $100 gift certificate to The Original.
