Widmer Brothers Brewing and Draft Magazine Celebrate the Art of Beer
With the 2012 Explore Your Craft Series This Friday
Explore Your Craft, a collaborative effort by Widmer Brothers Brewing and DRAFT magazine, kicks off its 2012 series in Portland, OR, on Friday, July 13, and tickets are available now. A series of seven events held a 1f71 round the country, Explore Your Craft celebrates the artistry of brewing, cooking, visual art and musical performance.
Other events in the 2012 series will be held in Minneapolis; Washington, D.C.; San Francisco; San Diego; Seattle; and Boston.
Centered around the Widmer Brothers Brewing portfolio, the Portland event will offer a selection of small plates from Chef Brian Stafford of Portland’s Pearl District Whole Foods paired with specific beers, along with a charcuterie station from Olympic Provisions. The celebration will also feature the work of local artists and musicians, and attendees will be given the opportunity to participate in the creation of a unique work of art.
Featured beers at the Portland event will include Widmer Brothers’ summer seasonal Citra Blonde Summer Brew, the newly released Shaddock IPA from the brewery’s Rotator IPA Series, Kill Devil Brown Ale from the brewery’s Brothers’ Reserve line and many more, including Widmer Brothers favorites such as Drop Top Amber Ale, Drifter Pale Ale, Widmer Hefeweizen and Pitch Black IPA.
Special guests will include the following:
· Kurt and Rob Widmer, founders of Widmer Brothers Brewing
· Samuel Robinette, a local artist exploring photography, painting, film, illustration, typography and other abstract art forms
· Sami Rouissi, a Pacific Northwest musician
